                              CALLING ALL PROMOTERS

                              DISTRICT 36 GOES ALL-IN FOR DIRT TRACK IN 2011

                              District 36 has made a powerful commitment to building the sport of dirt track.  Our goal is build it by both attracting new and young riders and a circuit of tracks that can build variation and excitement into our sport.

                              PROMOTER RULES CHANGES: To show just how serious we are about building dirt track, we’ve made substantial changes to support new promoters:

                              #1.  In 2010, the District passed a rule that a rider must compete in a minimum of 50% of each promoter’s championship races to be eligible for championship points.

                              #2.  The District has relaxed the criteria about how race dates are awarded and new promoters are given fairer treatment.

                              #3.  We will provide real, tangible (and sometimes financial) support to new promoters and track owners.

                              MARKETING SUPPORT:   For new promoters, we’ll provide a free half page advertisement in the District 36 newsletter. 

                                                                                      BENEFITS OF AN AMA DISTRICT 36 SANCTION:

                              ADVERTISING:  Advertise as an AMA District 36 event.

                              MARKETING:  The District 36 Dirt Track Committee will offer services to help market your event, including such things as websites, forums, track-side photos and much more.

                              TRACK CONSULTING:  The District DT committee will provide consultation and preparation assistance. We’ve got decades of track prep knowledge at our disposal.  We’ll even help you build the track if we can work out the logistics.

                              EVENT ASSISTANCE:  We will provide substantial assistance on race day, including support with sign-ups, tech, referee assistance and track personnel.

                              PAPERWORK:  We will assist you with the paperwork necessary to become a district 36 promoter.

                              PREFERRED INSURANCE:  Your insurance costs may be lower with one of the AMA’s preferred carriers.

                              AMA PROMOTER CHARTER:  Promoters are chartered by the AMA (American Motorcyclist Association), adding additional prestige to your event. 

                              AMA DISTRICT 36 ADVANCEMENT:  Amateur riders wishing to progress through the ranks from Rookie to Junior and lastly to the cherished Expert ranking can only do so through the AMA District Advancement process.  

                              DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP:  You will be an integral part of the championship series.  District 36 Championship contenders must ride a minimum of 50% of your championship events to be eligible. 

                              RULES:  Riders will run under standardized national and district rules. If you wish to run classes that don’t fit the rules, you are free to run exhibition classes as long as they comply with AMA safety rules.

                              RESULTS:  Have your results reported on the www.norcaldirttrack.com website.

                              PRESTIGE:  AMA races have national importance and prestige.

                              ELIGIBILITY FOR REGIONAL EVENTS:  The AMA awards regional AMA National Amateur Dirt Track events to qualified promoters.  As a District 36 promoter you are eligible to be considered for this prestigious event. If you can provide a quality track and professional promotion, we will back you to host a regional event.

                              REPRESENTATION:  Active members are entitled to send two (2) delegates to all meetings of the District 36 Motorcycle Sports Committee. Each delegate is entitled to one vote.  

                              SUMMARY:  Frankly stated, District 36 is serious in getting back on track in its commitment to dirt track.  We need to move forward together and grow our sport, learning from (but not dwelling on) our past challenges.  It will require us all to “move on”, go forward positively and work together to rebuild our sport.   District 36 Dirt Track is here to say, “Let’s do it”.
