                              Junkyard Exhibition Class Rules

Junkyard''s sole goal is to promote fun and affordable entry-level dirt track racing

SANCTIONING:  Junkyard 250 is run as a sanctioned AMA Exhibition event to promote the sport.

HANDICAP CLASS:   This class will run as a handicap event and per AMA rules no championship points will be awarded, however clubs may allow their own championship.  Handicapped starting positions will be determined by a combination of the heat race finish and a competitor's historical finishing position.  Starting positions will be determined by Slideways Racing personnel.  In the event that no TS people are present, the club will have been provided a default handicap document that will indicate rider's starting positions.  Anyone refusing to line up correctly will be disqualified from the class.

BUDGET ORIENTATION:  The class is a budget class. Highly modified and modern bikes are prohibited.

FRAME:   Stock, period-style aftermarket suspension allowed.

MOTOR:   1985 and earlier, stock, air-cooled four-stroke motorcycles of 250cc and less.  Other air-cooled four stroke motorcycles may be allowed to race at the discretion of the governance committee; if the bike is judged to give too great a competitive advantage then the points and places won by the rider will be forfeited, and the bike will not be allowed to run in the class after the trial period.

RIDER REQUIREMENTS: No riders under 13 years old, or 125 lbs. (male), or 100 lbs (female).

SAFETY:  Any rider or bike found to be a hazard to the safety of others in the class, and declared so by a majority vote of the Governance Committee, will not be allowed to participate.

ENTRY & MEMBERSHIP FEES:  Your local sanctioning body and race promoter will likely require a membership and an entry fee.

CLAIMING RULE:   Any top three finishing rider may claim a bike that wins more than two races in a row. Claim shall be $1,200 and shall be claimed the same day of the event. The person owning a bike that is claimed can negate the claim by not participating in the class at future events.

CRASS SELF-PROMOTION:   All participants are encouraged to promote spectacle. Suggestions include but are not limited to nicknames, outrageous paint jobs, phony sponsor names, unusual riding apparel, bike decoration, noisemaking devices, etc.

JUNKYARD ROULETTE:   This variation will occur on random nights and will be declared at the Rider’s Meeting.   Any riders can volunteer to enter a drawing wherein each volunteer will pick a number out of the hat which will correspond to the bike they’ll ride that night in the main.  Riders may opt out of the draw but a minimum of three riders must participate.   Riders participating must come to the track with a number plate with their number on it.

GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE:   Junkyard 250 is presently governed by Team Slideways members Randy Kremlacek, John Bishop and Rob Lanoy.  Rules changes will be approved by simple majority vote of active members. Committee members must actively promote Junkyard to be on the governance committee (one promotional activity per month defines "actively promotes").

GROUNDS FOR IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION:  Any association, however remote, with Ivan The Unbearable.
